The warmer weather is here so put on your sunscreen and hit the trails, parks, or back patio with family and friends. This morning with a 'honey do" list a mile long I decided to let it go and take a walk with the family to the local park.
The weekend baseball games were underway and it was only a moment before we saw familiar faces. One family, with a father away on business, was cheering on their son who seemed to notice dad wasn't in the stands. It only took a nudge and my husband was right at the fence shouting encouragement. Within minutes the girls were cheering, running to the snack stand for snow cones, and then somehow ended up in the Announcer's box.
"Now batting...." and I looked up at the speaker on the poll and smiled. Moments later, and with a crack of the bet the crowd was cheering and our friend's son brought it home. It just doesn't get any better.
Hours passed leaving arms and noses kissed lightly by the sun and rainbow smiles, from sucking on colored ice. We were a happy team as we walked the path back home.
There is something to be said about just letting go and welcoming what presents itself.
