As both role models and a market force, women matter.
And brands listen.
So it is with much gratitude and excitement that I share this big news from Lori Popkewitz Alper, founder of Groovy Green Living. Wrote Lori,"The Power of We is a force to be reckoned with!" in her blog post about the 80,000+ women and organizations such as Healthy Child Healthy World and Women's Voices for the Earth, who came together demanding that Tide remove the cancer-causing chemical 1,4-dioxane from Tide® and Tide Free & Gentle®.
The result? "On January 24, 2013 Procter & Gamble, makers of Tide® and Tide Free & Gentle® detergents agreed in a California court to reformulate its detergents to reduce levels of 1,4 dioxane to below 25 parts per million. Procter & Gamble will complete the reformulation process by September of 2013!" shares Lori.
Read more here, and never forget the oft used Margaret Meade quote, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Indeed, it is what inspired me to start ecomom®, and why I am so honored be a part of the sisterhood called women and mothers.
Lori, I bow down.
