You'll want to share this video by our partners at Healthy Child, Healthy World. You'll want to keep in mind that you can make a difference - immediately. Three easy action steps to protect you and your family will reduce exposure to up to 150 different toxic chemicals:
1. Replace toxic "cleansers" with healthy brands, or go back to basics with baking soda as a scouring agent, hydrogen peroxide as a bathroom disinfectant, and white vinegar for cleaning windows, mirrors, floors and counter tops.
2. Get rid of conventional air "fresheners" and chemical laden candles, which turn the air you breathe into a toxic potion you don't want to inhale. Fill your home instead with the pure and healthy scent of essential oils such as lavender, lemon, and sage. A fun little trick I learned from my mom is to place citrus peels on a low burning stove for a few moments. Sprinkles of cinnamon and vanilla work well too, and fill your home with the scent of fresh baked cookies (without the chemicals, or calories).
3. Opt for organic food whenever possible. EWG's guide can help make this super easy and affordable.
